Anti-vax book attracts anger from reviewers

According to the blurb, Melanie’s Marvellous Measles was written “to educate children on the benefits of having measles and how you can heal from them naturally and successfully”. While the arguments against vaccination are most strident in the US, the book’s author, Stephanie Messenger, comes from Brisbane in Australia.

In the book, Melanie contracts measles despite being vaccinated while her unvaccinated friend Tina is not infected with the virus – a highly implausible outcome as the virus is so contagious,  90% of people not vaccinated will be infected if exposed, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The book has been bombarded with negative reviews on Amazon, including the following:
